Bitcoin Price Alerts: FAQ
How do bitcoin price alerts work?
Choose an alert and enter your email. We send a link to confirm your address; after that, the site checks the live bitcoin price every minute. A price alert sends one email when bitcoin crosses your price and then switches off. All-time-high and big-move alerts stay on and send at most one email a day.
How often does bitcoin move 5% in a day?
Over the last two years bitcoin closed 104 days out of 731 with a move of 3% or more from the previous close, 32 days with 5% or more and 3 with 10% or more. The alert uses the 24-hour change, so it can also fire between daily closes.
What counts as a new all-time high?
A price above the highest daily close so far ($124,753), or above the price of your last all-time-high email if that was higher. After each email the bar moves up to that price, so you hear about each new leg up, at most once a day.
Is it free? What do you do with my email?
Free. We keep your address and the alerts you chose to send them, and nothing else is shared or sold. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe and a link to change your alerts. Details: /privacy.
Can I get alerts for gold and silver too?
Yes: goldprice.corgano.com and silverprice.corgano.com have the same alerts, and the daily or weekly market email covers gold, silver and bitcoin together.
